Intellistudent of the Week, 1-3-07

I am a 17 year old senior at Southwestern High School in Pulaski County, Kentucky. I enjoy many activities, but I most enjoy getting to rehabilitate injured birds of prey through the Conservation Club at my school. I am trained to work with any of the birds that come in, and frequently get to handle our country's national symbol, the Bald Eagle. Our raptor center actually houses two of these animals, Liberty and Independence, but I prefer to work with Liberty because she is an Alaskan bird, and much larger. I am also a member of the SWHS chapter of the National Honor Society.
