Camala Beek
Intellistudent of the Week, 3-28-07

My name is Camala Beek, and I am 18 years old. I grew up in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, which is a VERY small town of about 800 people. We don’t even have a stoplight. Our closest McDonald’s is 40 miles away. Worse than that, our closet Starbucks is 180 miles away. So, I spend a lot of my time riding horses, playing piano (8 years), cruising around town with my friends and playing sports. I have been a varsity player in volleyball, basketball and golf throughout my high school career. I also am very involved in my church and participate in a bunch of activities through that.

In addition, I am a high fashion model. This has been an amazing opportunity because it gets me out of Cheyenne Wells. I have traveled to Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and London to model. However, I have stopped modeling and I am going to college on a volleyball scholarship to Eastern New Mexico University. While there, I plan on majoring in communications and then hopefully working for a fashion magazine after graduation. That way, I can still be a part of the fashion world and work with models.

I hope these few paragraphs have given you a snapshot of my life!

That's just Scuzzy's luck -- we get a high fashion model as Intellistudent of the Week, and she send us a picture of her making a funny face through a fish tank, instead of a runway shot! But we like your style, Camala. Hard worker, jet setter, athlete, good sense of humor...sounds a lot like Scuzzy except for the athlete, jet setter and model parts.
