In The Classroom
Presumably, you're spending quite a bit of time in the classroom these days -- and if you're not, you're at least trying to convince your parents and the government that you are. (This is the part where we're supposed to say the more time you spend in class, the better you'll do in school and in life -- but do we look like your mommy?) Of course we don't. Your mom is much better looking. Built, too, very supple. And that perfume she wears...

But I digress. What we ARE here to do, however, is save you time and money on school-related stuff, and to that end, we put together a ton of information in the sections below. Check 'em out, lest you seem ungrateful.

IN THE CLASSROOM

Scholarships

We know, we know -- you're flush with more cash than you know what to do with, and if you had any more, you'd have to start blowing your nose with Benjis. But just in case we've read you wrong and you could use some scarole (that's Sopranos-speak for money), check out our scholarships.

The links in this section lead to about $8 trillion in scholarships. OK, not that much, but at least a couple billion. In free money. Why are you still here? Click the link already.

Financial Aid

OK, let's say you're not the early-riser, go-getter type and don't want to spend weeks applying for all 500,000 scholarships on the Internet. Maybe you'd rather just get a loan. Better yet, maybe you could just convince your parents to get a loan.

We've got your back there too, my motivationally challenged friend. Look no further and find sources for additional student loans, and lots of expert articles about why you should or shouldn't sign on the dotted line.

Online Classes

Online classes -- a double-edged sword. Mandarin Chinese or Advanced Calculus? Not a good idea. Psychology, Sociology, and other basic -ology classes that pry you off the couch for an hour three times a week when by all rights you should be home watching your soap opera? Now you're talkin'.

Dozens of legit, accredited schools offer these classes online. In fact, you may have received a spam from some of them. Or 9,000 spams. Daily. However, unlike those other spams about inflating your naughty bits, these are actually true. If online courses are up your alley, this is your section.

Online Degrees

Remember all that stuff we just said above about online classes? Well, when you do a bunch of those in sequence, it's called an online degree. If you hate driving to class every day and trekking across a busy campus from a packed parking lot, then maybe you should consider it.

Sure, in this section you'll find the schools that offer online degrees. Duh. But you'll also find tons of articles and commentary about how to succeed going to college online, the ups and downs of ditching the campus, and all that jazz.

Textbooks & Supplies

Ever been robbed at gunpoint by the Tijuana police? We have. Not fun. Well, your college may not use a firearm (unless you go to the Citadel), but it still steals hundreds of dollars from you every year in textbook charges. Let's see -- Harry Potter books are the most in-demand books in the world, and you can get a hardback for $18. So why, exactly, does that Psychology tome of yours have a sticker price of $130? What's that you say? Fraud? You're right!

Fight back, my friends. Start sticking it to The Man right now, and do not delay. Buy those same books from other students online for a fraction of the cost. If you're lucky they'll even have notes in the margins, or at least some vulgar doodles.

Computers, Printers & Accessories

That's a nice computer you're using there. No, really. I like the retro look. I like my keyboard with crumbs all over it, a monitor smeared with fingerprints and a CPU that makes more noise than microwave popcorn. Congrats on that.

On the other hand, you have options. Computers are cheaper these days than a weekend of binge-drinking (if you're in New York or L.A., make that six hours of binge drinking). And even if you don't want to spring for a new machine, read about how to make the most out of what you've got.

"In The Classroom" Articles

Clearly, you're a wizard. You're visiting Intellistudent, which means you're 80 times smarter than most people you know. However, don't you go getting an ego, now. Keep some humility about yourself.

There may be one or two things you've got left to learn, and that's why we've included "In The Classroom Articles." It's a collection of articles from writers around the country about saving time and money while you're in school. Take all the tips they can give you, because a) they're free, and b) they're smarter than us. They may be smarter than you, too. We don't know. You decide.
